American Idol Top 10 contestants take the stage, while mentoring for tonight’s theme: R&B Soul night is USHER. Like what I’ve said last week, themes are getting tougher and this R&B night is just the start. Only the strongest will survive in this season and what your front runner yesterday might be weakening tomorrow, so nothing is still certain. Here is the recap of your Top 10 American Idol hopefuls…

SIOBHAN MAGNUS – “Through the Fire”… well, Siobhan should think twice before doing what she wants. I think that now she didn’t remember that her awesomeness is when she did ‘Living for the City” and her tender moments in “Wicked Game”. After she wowed the judges by doing “Paint it Black”… well, she’s not singing nicely anymore! She screams and screams and just scream for the sake of the highest screamings possible in this season and that’s just bad! She didn’t know that she’s also good in a tender voice but anyway…

CASEY JAMES – I’ve been liking Casey since day one, and tonight he just hit the spot! Hitting what is exactly for him to go deeper. He did “Hold On, I’m Coming” and that’s just great! Even Simon Cowell was impressed with Casey now, and you know Simon wasn’t really impressed at him the previous week, so? I can agree with Kara and Ellen for Casey to make something different. I think he’s on his track now, he only needs to push himself more.

MICHAEL LYNCHE – He’s been consistent. I think he’s been focus doing his own thing eversince. This night, Big Mike did “Ready for Love”. The only beef I got with Mike is that he is more like leaning on a not good, not bad performance. He’s getting boring to me, I don’t know!

DIDI BENAMI – Now I have no idea if what is going on with Didi. To me, she’s no longer the Didi Benami I used to fell in love singing ‘Terrified’ in Hollywood Week. Right now she’s one of these contestants who got lost in the competition, and I’m sorry, because base in my own “normal” opinion – a song like “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted” is just tough song to sing (not unless if you’re Tom Jones)!

TIM URBAN – Do you have any idea why is this guy still here? He is in the Top 10 and he is in, together with these guys touring! Yep, another trainwreck from our good boy Tim. While I got nothing against Tim, he’s singing is just annoying. He did “Sweet Love”, by the way…

ANDREW GARCIA – Last week, Andrew gets sliced by the judges. Now it seems that Andrew is back in the competition with his rendition of “Forever”. It’s the not the best of the night and it can’t really take Andrew further in the show but at least, better than last week.

KATIE STEVENS – Too bad, but it’s not too late! Katie Stevens is also back in the competition. This might be a hell of her strongest performance! Yep, it’s never too late, so who knows if Katie did already found herself and will dominate the upcoming weeks! She did “Chain of Fools”, that sounds too old for her but the singing is excellent! Way to go…

LEE DEWYZE – It goes without saying that this R&B night is Lee Dewyze’s night! That’s right, Lee Dewyze rendered the best performance of the night. This is one of the contestants who doesn’t argue with the judges and take criticism in a good way. So as we can see, not only that Lee improved vocally, he is also very relaxed and comfortable on stage.

CRYSTAL BOWERSOX – The season’s favorite returns with a surprise. This time she’s not with her guitar and sit behind the piano instead. What I feel on Crystal this night is that she’s not comfortable with what she’s doing. I don’t know. No one should ask about the singing! Boy, this girl Bowersox just give nothing but incredible vocals! It’s just the way I see it regarding the entire performance…

AARON KELLY – Well, he ends the show with a mediocre performance, haha! No doubt, Aaron is really a talented singer but… hey, it’s a tough battlefield when there are people like, Siobhan, Bowersox, James, Dewyze, and Big Mike scattering around. He’s good but he’s not in the caliber of those people I’ve mentioned, so I don’t know.
