American Idol Season 10: Episode 18 – Mar/17/2011 Okay so last week’s elimination night made Ashton Jones packing her stuff and the first from the Top 13 contestants to be eliminated. Also in that episode, Adam Lambert returns in American Idol stage and performs his new version of the song “Aftermath”. Tonight, your Top 12 will be performing songs from their birth year. Like Lauren Alaina was born in 1994, she should be singing songs coming out in that year.

Tonight, it seems that everybody is doing great (or will disappoint you) and will be leaving us in trouble: Trouble in picking the right contestant to stay and sing again next week. Flu attacked some of the hopefuls this time around, making them sick but the show goes on. Casey Abrams takes the risk tonight by singing a Nirvana song. So let me recall this, a few weeks ago James Durbin rocked the stage with a Judas Priest song and now we’re hearing “Smells Like Teen Spirit” via Casey Abrams. Who knows what’s next…

Pia Toscano once again deliver the goods, but let me say my side here: this whole diva and big song choices were great but hey, I don’t think it’ll do her any good if she’s singing another Celine Dion or Mariah next week. While I admit that this girl can really sing, she’s getting a little bit boring week by week if she continues doing this whole “big song” thing. Why not do something quirky and “current”, phew! I’ve seen that youtube video where she sings a Gaga song and I’m telling you, she rocks even more! Bring that on Idol instead!

Shining tonight: Pia Toscano, and Jacob Lusk. The bad ones (no matter how good you see it, there will always be a bad performance and this is my opinion only) belongs to Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, and Karen Rodriguez. The lights on Casey’s performance is awesome and bringing up Grunge memories, but you can do more better than that. Lauren Alaina and Karen Rodriguez tried singing bigger songs and wow, I don’t know how to sing myself but at least I can differentiate a good vocal from a “scattering” one, lolzZz.
