This night on American Idol, Top 8 guys will be performing, and they should do it right. Otherwise, female contestants like Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Lily Scott will continue to dominate this ninth season.

LEE DEWYZE starts this night’s episode singing Owl City’s “Fireflies.” It was a good start for the guys ‘though Simon Cowell simply called it just ok, but an ok to this guy is excellent to some so that makes Lee at least happy.

Next up is ALEX LAMBERT. He did Ray LaMontagne’s “Trouble.” It was okey to me, but once again stagefright got Alex Lambert. He doesn’t look so bad this time around if we compare him on his first performance on that stage. Stage presence is one of the factors in this competition. Alex should get over it, otherwise…

Hitting the stage next is ANDREW GARCIA. He’s singing Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” and well… I think that’s just bad?? I don’t work as an A&R in some record label but at least I know what’s good and bad music, heh! So yes, Andrew’s rendition of Aguilera’s track is just bad. I think he’s trying to catch praises with this but too bad, it didn’t work like Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”.

Cougar’s delight, CASEY JAMES, takes the stage and he did Keith Urban’s “You’ll Think of Me”. It wasn’t bad, I think it was great and stood out from the rest. Randy Jackson calls it safe and Kara seems to be seeking more.

AARON KELLY is up and it looks like that he’s not used to sit on a stool. It was bad, or? Not really bad? He’s hitting these notes that made him acceptable, but I think that’s just still bad.

TODRICK HALL did “Somebody to Love” by Queen. Once again Todrick did a new arrangement for this track and some worked, some didn’t. That falsetto is the most annoying thing this guy have done, but his broadway experience saves him from this total mess.

Closing the show is MICHAEL LYNCHE or better known as ‘Big Mike’. He did Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work”. It was really good. It seems that the wheel starts to turn and Lynche is on top right now leaving Casey James and Andrew Garcia on the sideways.
