He was the first blind or seriously disabled contestant to compete in the “American Idol” finals. And though there were initial worries about how he would fare onstage, Scott MacIntyre blended in and did well — thanks to his co-finalists who gladly guided him to his proper places onstage. So what’s he gonna do now that his “Idol” journey is over? Scott MacIntyre shares,

“The first thing I’m gonna do when I get back home is take a look at all the original material I have lying on the table and put together the best album I can on paper, and then I’m going to go for it,” he says. “I’m gonna try to be prepared when the time comes.”

Scott MacIntyre also shared that “There’s the MacIntyre Family Singers, on the other end of the spectrum, which has done a cappella jazz, gospel music, Broadway-type music, classical.” Nice! So singing is a family affair eh? =) On being the latest to leave “American Idol”, Scott MacIntyre says, “There’s not much difference between finishing eighth and finishing third.” So true! But it’s still sad not to see your good humor every week Scott.. We will miss you!

Let’s cut to the chase — the funny and mild-mannered singer Scott MacIntyre was the one eliminated from American Idol last night. Yup, the blind pianist who can play a guitar too as he told Paula Abdul, “It’s my punk side coming out..” in his last Tuesday’s performance with an electric guitar. Scott MacIntyre explains his versality, “There are a number of things that I do, actually, and they’ve all been put on hold obviously. There is Scott MacIntyre, the pop-rock singer-songwriter. There is the Glutes, which is me and my brother, and we have a punk-pop, power-pop band along the lines of Jimmy Eat World, Yellowcard, Blink 182—that type of music. I wrote the music and produced that band.” Awesome huh?? =)

Since the auditions, the mother of three was the favorite of the four American Idol judges. Even Simon Cowell was wowed by her! However, Lil Rounds seem to be stumbling ever since being named as one of the Top 12 finalists. Vocally, she’s awesome but according to the judges, she’s more like a karaoke singer — mimicking the original singer and not making the song her own. As Kara DioGuardi puts it, Lil Rounds has to make the transition from being an excellent singer to a well-rounded artist. Is she up to it? According to her,

I’m really my biggest critic. When I watch myself singing, I’m like, “Lil, make sure you hit that note!” “Lil, make sure you smile!,” even though it’s already happened.

Lil Rounds also shared how her husband and kids felt about her American idol experience. She shares, “My husband, right after they showed my audition, he started getting noticed a lot. He said he had different people come up to him, and they’re like, “Oh, my God, we saw your wife! We absolutely love her!” And the babies are just excited. They call me “American Idol Mama.” [Laughs.] We’re all happy about it.” Well, you gotta step up Lil if you want your American Idol experience to be prolonged. The public is noticing the judges’ not-so-good remarks about your performances =(

Ooohh.. Now this is such an absolutely delicious American Idol rumor! But Megan Joy Corkrey was quick to deny rumors that she and Matt Giraud are romantically involved. The recently divorced single mother told People magazine, “Not at all. We’re just friends. He has a girlfriend, and I have no interest in dating right now.” Megan Joy and Matt Giraud have, however, forged a tight bond over “just being lonely, you know, and wanting to laugh.” Well, if laugh is what you need, you’d certainly get lots of that from the kooky singer! =)

Megan Joy Corkrey also revealed to People that she plans to get a permanent momento of her time on American Idol. She shared, “I have a lucky ring that I’ve worn since the beginning of the show [of] a heart and inside the heart is a bird with a banner [that] says, ‘Fly lightly.’ It’s kind of like my favorite saying, and I’m gonna get it [tattooed] big on my ribs.” Goodness! Did she just say ribs??? Man, Megan Joy can certainly be over-kooky sometimes! LOL!

The kooky top 9 finalist said goodbye to American Idol last April Fools Day with a light heart. However Megan Joy Corkrey managed to insult judge Simon Cowell’s ego when she said that she didn’t care about what the judges think of her “Turn Your Lights Down Low” performance. But now, the mother of one is saying she does care. Megan Joy revealed the morning after elimination, “I really didn’t mean to upset him. I had no idea that it was going to be like that. I didn’t want people to think I didn’t care about the competition. I just didn’t care that Simon didn’t like my song.” She adds,

“I did care about what the judges thought because I wanted to keep progressing, but not personally for myself. If they don’t like what I do, that’s fine, but I’m not going to take it to heart, because I am who I am and I’m not going to change that. I sing how I sing, and if they don’t like it that’s cool. It’s not going to hurt my feelings.

Megan Joy Corkrey never hid the truth that she missed her son very much so she isn’t particularly sad leaving American Idol behind. She says to IdolTracker: “I am tired and very excited to see my son. It’s been a couple of months. Every minute that passes is harder … It’s never fun to get cut from a competition. I was excited to show America that I could belt songs out like the rest of them. I was bummed not to have that chance. But I get to go home to my son, so how am I’m feeling? It’s kind of a tossup.” As for the bird sounds she made during elimination night, Megan Joy reveals,

“I love birds and I’m just a big dork. I love making animal noises, and sometimes people think I’m funny, and I just decided to make a couple people laugh. The two people that think I’m funny … I just make noises all the time. All day yesterday I was like, ‘Guys, I think I’m going home. Please caw for me! Be my bird friends!’ And they were like, ‘Of course we will.”

None other than the kooky Megan Joy Corkrey! But before we go into that it must be said that Lady Gaga sang a very rousing rendition of “Poker Face” that had the American Idol audience grooving! =) Season 7 champ David Cook performed first with “Come Back To Me” (see video below) and was also given the platinum record award for his self-titled debut album. It was really an awesome night, even though it was April Fools Day, LOL! Anyway, onto Megan Joy — she landed in the bottom three with Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta. She gave a classy farewell but managed to irk Simon Cowell!

The British judge – a man with an arctic temperament – was asked if he was going to save her. He looked up and said coldly to Megan Joy: “When you said you don’t care, nor do we.” He was referring to a comment she had made earlier – a sort of “I don’t care what the judges think…” WHOA!
