It was told that this is the last American Idol season with Simon Cowell as the judge. True or not, this didn’t stop Fox. The said company is already sliding closer to a deal with the show’s 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia to make sure that the reality television show stays on air after its present contract runs out in 2011. Reports claim that after a new contract is signed, AI on Fox should be extended at a minimum of 3 seasons.
News on the said extension of the contract came out merely weeks after speculations that Simon Cowell will be leaving American Idol at the end of 2010 to be focusing more on the planned 2011 premiere season of The X Factor’s American version.
If Simon Cowell’s leaving, this might just be a one major setback to the show and might decline its popularity.
